Evanston, Ill.- The UIC women's tennis team resumed fall action on Friday, returning to a familiar site for the annual Wildcat Invitational at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. The Flames, who took on Northwestern in the first round of last season's NCAA Tournament in Evanston, had a rough day on the singles side, going 0-4 on the day in a field that included regional rivals DePaul, Wisconsin, Louisville, Western Michigan, Iowa State and the host Wildcats. Iris Jaklin and Corey Steven teamed up for a hard-fought 9-7 doubles win over Louisville's Leslie Stewart and Suzanna Gracanin. UIC is back in action on Saturday for the second day of the Wildcat Invite.
