2004 Bronco Invitational Day Two Results in PDF Format
Kalamzaoo, Mich.- Day two of the Bronco Invitational proved to be a mixed bag for the University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis team on Saturday. Junior Corey Steven led the charge with a singles victory and a doubles win with Melanie Humphrey. Steven defeated Marquette's Dominika Dabrowski in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while teaming with Humphrey to down the Eastern Michigan duo of Laura Fernandez and Catherina Bestahorn, 8-2. UIC also received a doubles win from Christina Oum and Iris Jaklin, who defeated Erin Watkins and Maria Calbeto, 8-2. In main singles action, Beatriz Cabrera lost a tough 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (6) to Indiana's Dora Vastag after winning the first frame. The Flames close out play at the Bronco Invitational on Sunday.
