Women's Tennis Closes Out Season With NCAA First Round Defeat At Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The UIC women's tennis squad closed out the 2009 season in the first round of the NCAA tournament with a 4-0 loss against the fifth-seeded Irish of Notre Dame on Friday afternoon. Making their 11th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, the Flames put up a fight against the Irish, but ran out of time as host Notre Dame claimed three singles victories after winning the doubles point to cap off the match for the 4-0 victory. The Flames end the season with a 15-8 record, winning their 13th straight Horizon League title after defeating Detroit last weekend, extending their league winning streak to 113 games against conference foes.
