Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season With 7-0 Sweep Of Green Bay

CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team capped off their regular season with a 7-0 victory over Green Bay on Sunday, taking a seven match winning streak into next weekend's Horizon League Championship. The Flames (13-7, 8-0) won the doubles point off of dominating victories from Elena Antakova and Ilinca Cristescu at No. 2 and Amy Jellish and Jenna Reisch at the third position. For the third time this weekend, UIC swept the singles action, with five matches won in straight sets. Mariya Kovaleva, Cristescu, Kristen McPhillips, Jellish and Reisch all went undefeated in league singles action this season, with Antakova falling in only one singles match against a conference opponent. With the victory, the Flames have extended their Horizon League dual match winning streak to 111 games, not dropping to a conference opponent since the 1996 season. UIC will look to capture its 13th consecutive conference title next weekend, April 25-26, at the Horizon League championships, held in Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday. UIC 7, Green Bay 0
