Louisville, Ky.- A valiant road effort by the entire UIC women's tennis team was not enough against No. 71 Louisville as the host Cardinals picked up a 5-2 win over the Flames at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Saturday.

UIC (6-10) received nice individual efforts in both victory and defeat. No. 1 singles player Iris Jaklin was impressive in picking up a big win over Leslie Stewart, taking the match in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

Molly Smith won the first set against Robyn White at the second spot, but White rebounded to take the second set by a 6-1 count before winning a 10-7 tiebreaker.

Christina Oum picked up the Flames' other point by default.
