Green Bay, Wis.- The University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis team returned to action on Friday after nearly a week and a half off, but they didn't miss a beat in their 6-1 win over Detroit in Green Bay, Wis.

The match was part of a three-team Horizon League battle that included Wisconsin-Green Bay, who also defeated the Titans by a 6-1 count earlier in the day.

UIC (9-6, 4-0 Horizon League) continued their conference dominance with a superb overall effort, spearheaded by a doubles sweep and wins in the top five spots.

Beatriz Cabrera led the charge with a 6-0, 6-0 singles sweep of Bianca Savarino in the lead slot, and it was all downhill for Detroit after that. Cabrera, Ayca Gumuscu, Iris Jaklin, Corey Steven and Melanie Humphrey combined to go 30-3 in first set play and 30-2 in final set action.

The Flames were equally dominant in doubles, sweeping the three matches 8-3, 8-2 and 8-2.

UIC is back in action on Saturday against UW-Green Bay before returning home for their outdoor home opener against Youngstown State at the UIC Outdoor Courts on Sunday, April 4th at 10 a.m.
