Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team began defense of its Midwestern Collegoiate Conference title this weekend with a pair of weekend road matches.

The Flames (7-11) swept UW-Milwaukee, 9-0, on Friday, then downed UW-Green Bay, 8-1 on Saturday.

With her singles win versus the Phoenix, Emina Curic tied the school record for career singles victories with 81.
