Oum's Victory Clinches Women's Tennis Win Over Eastern Michigan, 4-3

Evergreen Park, Ill.- Sophomore Christina Oum's hard-fought three-set comeback win over Easten Michigan's Laura Fernandez propelled the University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis team to a 4-3 win over the visiting Eagles at the Evergreen Racquet and Fitness Center on Thursday.
Oum bounced back from a 6-4 loss to Fernandez in the first set to take the second frame, 6-2. In a thrilling tiebreaker, Oum stole the show and the match with a 7-6(5) clincher in the last and deciding contest of the day to give the Flames (5-7) the victory.
Steven earned a solid No. 3 singles win over Yana Parfenyuk. while Grace Gill-Morlis continued to play well in her rookie campaign with a 6-1, 6-0 No. 4 singles win over Flavia Micati.
The win snapped a three-match losing skid for UIC.
Eastern Michigan fell to 2-7 on the year.
