Ames, Iowa- Senior Molly Smith picked up wins on the singles and doubles side, but it was not enough as Iowa State downed the Flames by a 6-1 count at Ames Racquet and Fitness.

Smith paced UIC (4-6) with a No. 4 singles win over Elizabeth Chermel in two sets, 7-5, 6-1. The senior had won earlier in doubles action with Grace Gill-Morlis over Chrissy Derouin and Danielle Uscinski, 7-5.

UIC faces Northern Iowa on Saturday.
