Michigan State Edges Women's Tennis
Feb. 18, 2000 East Lansing, Mich. - The UIC women's tennis team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Friday as they fell, 4-3, at Michigan State.
The Flames and Spartans split the six singles matches, with Nicole Derouin, Zvjezdana Malesevic and Alyson Stalzer earning wins. But UIC was only able to take one of the doubles matches, so Michigan State earned the one doubles point for winning two of the three matches.
Two of UIC's three singles losses were three set affairs, as both Jacki Farr and Emina Curic won the first set in their match, but dropped the next two.
Mary Dailey's squad is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., to tangle with Eastern Michigan.
