Women's Tennis Clipped By Bowling Green
Jan. 30, 2000 Bowling Green, Ohio - The UIC women's tennis team fell to 0-3 in dual play with a 5-2 loss at Bowling Green Sunday afternoon.
Emina Curic and Jacki Farr gave the Flames their two tallies on the day.
Curic, competing in the No. 2 singles position, downed Abby Bratton in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, while Farr, competing at No. 3 singles, defeated Meghan Rhodes in straight sets 6-3, 7-5.
Nicole Derouin, who move up to the No. 1 singles slot, dropped a tough 6-7 (5-7), 2-6 match. Derouin was also on the losing end of a hard-fought match in doubles play. Teaming with Kim Harris, the duo lost in a tiebreaker 9-8 (10-8).
UIC will look for its first dual meet win of the season on Tuesday, Feb. 1, when they take on Northern Illinois at 2:30 p.m.
