Milwaukee, Wis - After a difficult stretch over the weekend facing off against the likes of Michigan, Michigan State and Eastern Michigan, maybe the UIC women's tennis team needed to visit another state.

Wisconsin gave the Flames their first dual match win of the season, as UIC defeated Marquette, 5-2, in Milwaukee on Tuesday afternoon.

Nicole Derouin continued her strong play of late, defeating Eva Trujillo Herrera, 6-4, 7-6. at No.1 singles.

Ayca Gumuscu and Zorica Malesevic also picked up wins in the second and fifth spots, respectively.

The Flames snagged the doubles point, as Derouin and Corey Steven defeated Briseno and Espinosa, 8-4.

UIC is off until Sunday, February 2, when they host UW-Milwaukee and Southern Illinois at the Hyde Park Tennis Club at 8:00 a.m.
