INDIANAPOLIS - UIC sophomore Whitney Johnson was named Horizon League Diver of the Week for Nov. 12-18, the League office announced on Tuesday. This is the third accolade of the season for Johnson and the fourth of her career.

The Roscoe, Ill., native came away with third- and fifth-place finishes over Nov. 16-18, when the Flames competed alongside Northwestern, North Dakota, Kenyon, Illinois and Bowling Green at the TYR Invitational hosted by the Wildcats. Johnson took third in the one-meter dive with a 253.25 final and placed fifth in the three-meter with 243.40, after scoring a preliminary score of 248.05.

Johnson's previous honors this season came for the weeks of Oct. 8-15 and Oct. 29-Nov. 4. On Oct. 13, she collected first and third to assist in UIC's win over Wright State. On Nov. 2-3, the Flames competed against Northwestern and Milwaukee, respectively, and Johnson was able to capture a pair of firsts in addition to a second- and third-place finish.

The Flames take a break from competition until they head to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. (CT) at the Brophy Hall Pool.
