    CHICAGO, Ill. - The UIC swimming and diving squads will hit the road this weekend to take on Northwestern on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Norris Aquatics Center.

    "We're looking forward to competing against a Big Ten opponent." said head coach Paul Moniak, "We hope to rise to the challenge."

    The men's squad has won their last three meets, while setting school records in the men's 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.

    Zach Van Swol took first place in the 1000 and 500 free this on Saturday when the Flames hosted North Dakota and Milwaukee. Van Swol also finished in first on Friday in the 500 free against the Fighting Sioux in dual competition.

    Brian Anderson claimed first place in four events over this past weekend. Anderson finished first in the 100 and 200 free on Friday and the 50 and 100 free on Saturday.

    The women's squad is coming off a third place finish in a quadmeet against North Dakota, Milwaukee, and Butler.

    Emily Gniatczyk has been on fire for UIC, winning six of her eight events this season. Gniatczyk set her first school record on Friday in the 200 free and was name the swimmer of the week in the fourth week of the season.

    Kayla Redig has also swum well for the Flames in their last two meets. Redig took first in the 100 fly in both meets and the 200 fly in the second meet.
