    CHICAGO – UIC sophomore Whitney Johnson was named Horizon League Diver of the Week for Oct. 8-15, the League office announced on Tuesday.  This marks the second career accolade for Johnson.

    The Roscoe, Ill. native was able to capture first in the one-meter dive and third in the three meter to help the Flames in their 176-122 victory over Wright State on Oct. 13.  Johnson was able to produce a score of 226.13 and surpass her competitors in the 1-mtr, as she came up with 215.25 in the 3-mtr.

    Johnson previously received the honor during the 2011-12 season for the week of Jan. 9-15, when she placed first in the one-meter (229.20) and second in the three (249.23).
