    Moment: Women’s Swimming and Diving’s Strong Showing at HL Championships

    QUICK RECAP

    The women’s swimming and diving program had a strong showing at the Horizon League Championships with three runner-ups. Danel Voorhees (100 butterfly), Whitney Johnson (three-meter board) and Melanie Waszak (200 butterfly) collected second-place finishes.

    LARGER PICTURE

    - Voorhees placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 55.50.
    - Voorhees finished the season with three first-place finishes in the 100 fly. These wins came against Milwaukee, Green Bay and a tri-meet against Eastern Illinois/IUPUI.
    - Johnson scored a 293.40 on the three-meter board to earn second at the Horizon League Championships.
    - Johnson ended the season with fifteen first-place finishes and represented UIC at the NCAA Zone C Championships.
    - Waszak swam the 200 fly with a mark of 2:01.53.
    - Waszak ended the season finishing in the top five in all of her individual events during 11 of the Flames’ 13 meets.
