CHICAGO - The UIC swimming and diving teams held an awards banquet on Sunday, April 26 to celebrate the season that saw the Flames win the 2009 Horizon League Men's title in February.

At the banquet, head coach Paul Moniak announced the 2009-10 team captains for next season: seniors Brenden Dougherty, Andy Peterson, Shaina Israel and junior Julia Shallcross.

Women Newcomer of the Year: Hannika Schleebs
Most Improved: Shaina Israel
Swimmer of the Year: Clair Martin & Kayla Redig
Diver of the Year: Sonia Peterson & Laurel Heath
2009-2010 Captains: Shaina Israel & Julia Shallcross
Senior Recognition: Courtney Eck & Ashley Simos
