April 14, 2008

Chicago, Ill. - UIC head swimming coach Paul Moniak announced on Monday that he has signed Clair Martin (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha South) to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Flames beginning in the 2008-09 season.

Martin, a backstroke specialist, has personal best times of 58.05 seconds in the 100 back and 2:04.92 in the 200 back. Both marks would have placed her in the top five at the 2008 league championships.

Coach Moniak said that Clair "adds to a strong recruiting class and we look for her to make an immediate impact in the Horizon League next season."
