    CHICAGO- The UIC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams held their annual awards banquet and brunch Sunday (April 9) at the Holiday Inn- Merchandise Mart Plaza, where they acknowledged the 2013-14 season achievements and named the 2014-15 captains.

    The Flames honored their eight seniors, Joel Demuth, Kristi Carling, Josh Jacobson, Alisa Penkala, Monica Pinkus, Conor Ozog, Brian Sivak and Melanie Waszak.

    Recipients of the Sam Kooistra Scholarship Award were named, with John Mordach and Whitney Johnson collecting the honors.

    The 2014-15 captains were also announced. Leading UIC will be Woody Lord, John Mordach and Sebastian Ostrowski for the men’s team, and Annie Jacobsen, Kelsey Millin and Katherine Hare for the women.
