Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's and women's swimming and diving teams garnered Academic All-American Team honors from the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced through CollegeSwimming.com.

This marks the eighth time that the Flames have earned Academic All-American Team accolades from the CSCAA in six years under head coach Paul Moniak.

The UIC women's swimming and diving team posted a team grade point average of 3.17 on a 4.0 scale this past fall, while the Flames' men's swimming and diving team combined for a 2.84 grade point average on the same scale last semester.

The teams represent squads that earned a 2.80 or better grade point average in the fall 2006 semester.

The CSCAA produces the Academic All-American Team list twice each year.
