Chicago, Ill.- The UIC swimming and diving team advanced 16 student-athletes to Thursday evening's Horizon League Championship finals session after some superb swimming performances during the day's preliminaries.

Blake Booher capped the session with a winning :20.24 in the 50 free to earn the event's top seed.

Cameron Seebeck (5th/:21.05) and Brenden Dougherty (7th/:21:21) also moved on to the 50 free finals.

Andrea Giczewski placed second in the women's 50 free prelims with a :23.80, while Kelly Hyatt, Colleen Dougherty and Emily Biancalana also finished in the Top 8 to move on to the finals.

Dan Hare and Mike Conroy will compete in the men's 200 IM finals,while Jessica Darud and Courtney Eck will swim in the women's version.

Davor Trnovljakovic finished sixth in the men's 500 free, while Mike Hare and Sean Dawson will also compete in the event tonight. Shaina Israel and Meghan Daly will compete in the women's 500 free after placing in the Top 16.

Thursday's finals session will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the UIC Natatorium.
