Milwaukee, Wis. - The UIC swimming and diving squad closed out the weekend in a double-dual meet in Milwaukee on Saturday night, mere hours after defeating North Dakota at the UIC Natatorium on Friday.

The men's team, led by 11 victories from all different events, defeated league rival and host Milwaukee 176.5-123.5 as well as North Dakota for the second night in a row, winning 196-94.

On the women's side, the Flames also defeated North Dakota, winning the affair 159-141, as well as Butler in a 240-46 showing. In a close afternoon, the squad's lone loss would be to the host Panthers, falling 176.5-123.5.

For the second consecutive day, UIC swam strong against tough competition. Brenden Dougherty took the top spot in two sprints, the 50 (21.43) and 100 free (47.18), lowering his season-best showing in the later event.

Will Ikeda was one of the many freshman Flames who put on strong performances, taking first in the 100 (58.09) and 200 (2:07.32) breaststroke. Zach Van Swol (1000 free, 9:43.93), Sarah Walsh (100 breaststroke, 1:07.67), Clair Martin (200 back, 2:06.71) and Luke Martinez (200 free, 1:43.94; 500 free, 4:40.80) also contributed to the successful Saturday for UIC.

Sarah Harper broke the school record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.15, and Ikeda set new Klotsche Pool records in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.

The Flames return to the water next Saturday, November 15th in Evanston where they will face host Northwestern and University of Chicago at 1 p.m.
