Chicago, Ill. - The UIC swimming and diving team put on an impressive display at the UIC Natatorium for the first time this season, winning the home opener against Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon.

The men's squad did not lose a single event, defeating EIU 165-64. The women's team lost in only one event, and outpaced the Panthers 162-74.

The Flames had great performances from start to finish, starting with a pair of victories in the 200 medley relays, right through to the final event, where the men's team won the 200 free relay.

UIC claimed the top two spots in every distance event, and were just as dominate in the sprints as well.

Brooke Sawyer (100 back, 1:00.49; 100 fly, 58.73) Kelly Hashoian (200 free, 1:56.78, 500 free, 5:08.61), Brian Anderson (50 free, 21.32, 100 free, 46.39) and Zach Van Swol( 200 free, 1:45.08, 100 back, 55.01) were some of the double-winners on the afternoon.

The Flames have two meets next weekend, first facing North Dakota back at the UIC Natatorium on Friday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. The following day, the team travels north to Milwaukee for a double-dual meet against league foes Milwaukee, Butler and North Dakota on Saturday the 8 at 1 p.m.
