    CHICAGO – The UIC men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams were joined by select alumni Saturday morning to participate in the annual Blue vs. Red Meet at the Flames Natatorium.  The Red team came away with the victory after combining for a total of 201 points versus the Blue team’s 188.

    The men’s Red squad placed first in 6-of-11 events for 104 points, with the Blue squad taking 95 points.  Both of the women’s teams kept the points close as the Red squad came away with 7-of-11 wins and 97 points, with Blue collecting a total of 93.

    With many tight races, the 22-event meet included the 200 medley relay, 200 free, 50 free, 100 IM, 1 mtr diving, 100 fly, 100 free, 100 back, 500 free, 100 breast and 200 free relay.

    The Flames kick off the 2012-13 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Dayton, Ohio to face Horizon League-opponent Wright State.
