West Lafayette, Ind. - Diving, for years, has been a staple of the University of Illinois at Chicago aquatics program.

On Friday, two UIC divers continued that tradition by competing at the Zone C Diving Championships, hosted by Purdue University.

Freshman Caitlin Carey competed well, finishing 31st in a stocked field of 43 with a score of 204.80.

She avenged her performance at the league championships two weeks ago by defeating four athletes who finished ahead of her the Horizon League championships, including league champion Roberta Borkowski of Wright State.

Mike Magee also competed in West Lafayette on Friday, finishing 22nd among a strong men's three-meter field with a tally of 351.20.
