    BROWN DEER, Wis. - UIC's women's swimming and diving team finished the 2009 Horizon League championships in fourth place on Saturday, with 546 points, improving over 150 points from last year's finish.

    Green Bay (859) claimed their fifth-straight league title, followed by Milwaukee (737), Wright State (564), the Flames, Youngstown State (300), Cleveland State (290), Valparaiso (214) and Butler (134) rounded out the eight-team field.

    Kelly Hashoian shaved 24 seconds off of her school-record time in the 1650 free, finishing second in the longest race of the evening in 17:00.18.

    Kayla Redig also earned runner-up honors in the 200 fly (2:03.07).

    In the 200 backstroke, Clair Martin finished third with a time of 2:00.82, taking five seconds off her previous best and lowering yet another school record.

    The Flames capped off the weekend with a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay in 3:31.20.
