Cleveland, Ohio - Shannon Joseph was named the Midwestern Collegiate Conference's Diver of the Year as the UIC women's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the MCC Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.

UIC's diving team turned in a sensational performance with Joseph winning the conference's three-meter dive with a score of 416.05 while she took second in the one-meter dive with a score of 340.95. Andrea Bove also fared well, finishing second on the three-meter (388.60) and third on the one-meter (332.30).

Julie-Anne Chico added a solid performance of her own, turning in third-place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with times of :24.45 and :52.82, respectively. She added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.79.

Adrienne Turri added another top three finish for UIC, placing second in the 100-yard backstroke after touching the pads in a time of :59.34.
