Chicago, Ill.- Junior Andrea Giczewski scored All-Horizon League Second Team honors after swimming a runner-up :59.04 in the 100-yard backstroke to pace the UIC women's swimming and diving team during Friday's finals session of the 2007 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships at the UIC Natatorium.

Giczewski claimed her third All-League designation of the year after posting her career best in the 100 back finals. After three days of competition Giczewski has also contributed to a league title in the 200 free relay for All-League First Team honors while garnering All-League Second Team accolades in the 50 free.

Jessica Darud finished the 100 back finals with a seventh-place 1:00.08.

Sarah Economides completed her final collegiate competition dives on a UIC Natatorium board in strong fashion, placing third in the women's one-meter diving finals with a score of 266.15.

Kelly Hyatt turned in a :59.60 in the 100 fly finals.

UIC's youngsters also had nice performances in Friday's finals. Sophomore Courtney Eck swam a 4:42.46 in the 400 IM to place seventh, while second-year swimmer Ashley Simos posted a 1:08.52 in the 100 breaststroke finals.

Through three days the Flames sit in fourth place in the team standings.

The 2007 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships conclude on Saturday with prelims at 10:30 a.m., diving prelims at 2:00 p.m. and the last finals session at 6:00 p.m.
