Giczewski Posts Runner-Up 50 Free Finish On Second Day Of Horizon League Championships Feb. 22, 2007 Chicago, Ill.- Senior Blake Booher captured his third consecutive Horizon League men's 50-yard freestyle title to highlight the second day of finals competition for the UIC swimming and diving team at the 2007 Horizon League Championships in the UIC Natatorium. Booher won the third straight crown in his specialty event with a time of :20.24. Rookies Brenden Dougherty (5th/:21.07) and Cameron Seebeck (7th/:21.13) were also impressive in their first 50 free league final. In the women's 50 free, Andrea Giczewski just missed giving UIC dual champions in the event with a second-place :23.72, narrowly missing first by .35. Along with Giczewski, Kelly Hyatt (4th/:23.95), Colleen Dougherty (5th/:24.27) and Emily Biancalana (8th/:24.51) gave UIC a league-best four representatives in the women's 50 free finals. Mark Pappalardo was excellent on the one-meter board, posting a score of 301.10 in the finals to place second overall. Teammate Ryan Fitzer followed in fourth with a 281.55. Dan Hare finished fifth in the 200 IM finals with a time of 1:53.23. Davor Trnovljakovic finished eighth in the men's 500 free after swimming the race in 4:37.73. In team scoring, the Flames sit in third on the men's side and fourth in the women's rankings. The 2007 Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships resume at the UIC Natatorium on Friday morning with prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m.
