Cleveland, Ohio - Junior Julie-Anne Chico's victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.12) helped the women's swimming team earn a split on Saturday as UIC defeated host Cleveland State (126.00-106.00) but fell to Wright State (162.00-79.00).

The men's team was not as fortunate as the Flames dropped both of their meets to Cleveland State (154.00-75.00) and Wright State (185.00-44.00).

The women's team received a runner-up finishes from freshman Jamie Redway (1000-yard freestyle, 10:41.05) and the 400-yard medley team (4:11.37) of a group of juniors in Adrienne Turri, Nakima Sepulveda, Katie Cherwin and Chico.

Junior diver Andrea Bove added a pair of second-place performances in the 1-meter (239.50) and 3-meter (234.30) diving competitions.

On the men's side, senior Diego Lora Coronado earned the only second-place finish for the Flames as he finished the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:07.59.

Both teams will be back in action on Friday as the Flames will host Bowling Green at the UIC Natatorium at 4 PM.
