    Milwaukee, Wis.- The UIC women's swimming and diving team continued its late-season surge of strong swimming against tough competition at this weekend's Bill Ritter Invitational, finishing fourth in the standings.

    Leading the way for UIC was Kelly Hyatt, who has come up big in the sprint-freestyle events for the Flames. Hyatt won the 100 freestyle in 54.14 and placed second in the 50 free with a time of 24.99.

    Hyatt also paced the Flames to a 1:39.74 for a 200 free relay win along with Aisha Williams, Emily Biancalana and Jenny Gessford. The fast foursome also won the 400 free relay with a 3:38.20.

    Williams was also strong in the sprint-free by placing third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50.

    Jessica Darud took second in the 200 backstroke with a 2:08.89 while placing third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.38).

    Sarah Economides led the Flames in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events, including a sixth-place ranking in the three-meter competition.

    UIC is back in action on February 5th, taking on Cleveland State in Cleveland, Ohio in their final tune-up before the Horizon League Championships.
