Evanston, Ill. - Both UIC swimming and diving teams had their hands full on Friday night on the road, as the men's team was foiled at Northwestern, 194-96, while the women's squad was overmatched at Illinois State, 192-88.

In Evanston, newcomer LeRoy Stevens continued his fine rookie campaign.

Stevens won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.81 and was a member of two winning UIC relay teams.

The Flames grabbed first in the 400-yard medley relay in 3:35.71 with the team of Stevens, Adan Jimenez, Ari Bernstein and Chris Kaczor. It was more of the same in 400-yard free relay, as Stevens, Jimenez and Bernstein teamed with Bill Hare to take first in a time of 3:12.6.

Both teams visit Horizon League rival UW-Green Bay on Saturday to face off with the Phoenix at 2:00 p.m.
