    2009-2010: Took fourth place in the 200 back to start her UIC career (2:17.59)...placed fourth in the 100 free (55.05) and 50 free (25.19) at the Phoenix Fall Classic...fourth place finish in the 50 free at Green Bay (25.07)...runner-up in the 200 free at Cleveland State (1:56.20)...finished in the top 10 in the 200 free (1:53.09) and 50 free (24.40) and took fourth place in the 100 free (51.80) at the 2010 Horizon League Conference Championship.

    Prior to UIC: Backstroke specialist at Santa Monica College in California for two years, taking first place in the 50 and 100 backstroke at the conference championships...guided team to fifth-place finish at the state championships in 2009.

    Prep/Personal: California Interscholastic Federation 100 backstroke champion in 2004...held CIF division four backstroke record for three seasons...led team to a fourth place finish at states as a freshman...born April 21, 1988...daughter of John and Inta Zemjanis...majoring in communication with an international studies minor.
