    Swimming & Diving Breaks School Records On Day Three

    The Flames set school records on the men's and women's side.

    AS A JUNIOR (2011-2012): Came in second place in the 200 free with 1:57.80 and first place in the 100 free with 53.01 against Wright State (10/15) ... took second in the 100 fly at Eastern Illinois (10/29) with 1:00.64 ... placed fourth in the 100 free (53.11) against Milwaukee and Illinois (11/5) ... claimed fourth in the 50 free in 24.59 and second in the 100 free in 53.52 versus Northwestern and North Dakota (11/12) ... participated in the 50 free, 200 free, 50 fly and 100 free at the TYR Invitational (11/18-20) ... finished first (24.38) in the 50 free and second (53.04) in the 100 free against Western Illinois and Saint Louis (12/17) ... came in third with 24.79 in the 50 free and first with 53.53 in the 100 free at Green Bay (01/14) ... produced a second-place finish against Valparaiso and Illinois State (01/20) in the 200 free with 1:55.67 ... at Youngstown State (02/03), won the 50 free (24.35) and 100 free (52.84) ... took second in the 200 free (1:54.69) and 100 free (52.71) at Cleveland State (02/04) ... swam in the 50 free, 100 free and set a team best in the 200 free (1:51.42) at the Horizon League Championships (02/22-25) ... part of the school-record 200 free relay (1:33.33), 400 free relay (3:25.98), 800 free relay (7:30.79) and 200 medley relay (1:43.48) teams ... had 13 top-3 performances throughout the season, with five coming in first place

    AS A SOPHOMORE (2010-2011): Placed first in the 200 free (1:55.72) and the 100 free (53.05) against Eastern Illinois (10/30) ... came in first in the 50 free with 25.87 at St. Louis (11/13) ... took first in the 200 free at Western Illinois (12/18) with a time of 1:57.76 ... touched first in both the 50 free and 100 free against Green Bay (1/15) with times of 24.42 and 53.03 respectively ... placed first in the 200 free against Youngstown (1/28) with 1:56.88 ... took second in the 50 free (24.62) against Cleveland State (2/05) ... finished third at the Horizon League Championships (2/23-2/26) in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.07.

    AS A FRESHMAN (2009-2010): Started her collegiate career with a win in the 200 free (1:54.64) and second place in the 50 free (52.64) against Wright State ... claimed the school record in the 200 free with a first place finish at home (1:53.42) ... took first place at Northwestern in the 100 free (52.34) ... won the 50 free (24.58) and 100 free (53.33) against Western Illinois ... finished in first place in the 100 free (52.80) and runner-up in the 50 free (24.58) at Green Bay ... claimed the top spot in the 50 free (24.37) and 100 fly (59.82) against Valparaiso ... runner-up in the 50 free (23.53) and third place finishes in the 100 free (51.34) and 200 free (1:50.96) and was named the 2010 Women's Newcomer of the Year at her first Horizon League Championship.

    PREP AND PERSONAL: Four-time letterwinner for Glenbard South ... 50 and 100 free sectional champion as a sophomore ... represented the Raiders even though school did not have a swimming team ... placed eighth in the 100 free and took 14th in the 50 free at the YMCA nationals over the summer ... four-year track letterwinner, guiding the Raiders to the 4x400 relay state title, setting the meet record in the process ... also was a two-time letterwinner in volleyball ... born May 11, 1991 ... daughter of Jerry and Margaret Gniatczyk ... currently enrolled as a pre-med major.
