Fresno, Calif. - UIC softball assistant coach Amanda Scott, a four-year standout in the circle at Fresno State University, was inducted into the city of Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

Scott was Fresno State's first four-time first team All-American in any sport, guiding the Bulldogs to the 1998 NCAA national championship in a 1-0 victory over Arizona. The WCWS crown was the first-ever national title for FSU.

Upon graduating in 2000, Scott was a 2000 US Olympic Team alternate and the first overall pick in the National Pro Fastpitch League, and was later named league MVP after leading the New York Juggernauts to a World Series Championship in 2004.

Scott still ranks amongst the top pitchers in NCAA history as her career winning percentage (.855) places her seventh and career shutouts (106) has her 10th in the record books. In 2006, she was named to the NCAA Div. I softball 25th 10 player anniversary team

The evening's induction class included Scott's 1998 champion softball team, legendary track and field coach Bob Fraley and former Los Angeles Dodger Tom Goodwin.
