    CHICAGO - The UIC softball team will participate in three weekend tournaments this coming fall, opening with the Fall Fling on September 19 in Minooka, Ill.

    After a season-opening intersquad scrimmage on September 11th, the Flames will face Illinois and Wisconsin at the Fall Fling in far southern suburbs on the 19th.

    The following weekend will keep UIC close to home, playing Northwestern and Loyola in Evanston on the 26th.

    The final weekend of play will take the Flames to Bloomington, Ill. for the State Farm Classic on October 2-3.

    "We are thrilled to get our team back to campus for the start for what is to be a great 2011 campaign," said head coach Michelle Venturella.

    "We are excited about the competition this fall as we are playing some of the top teams in the area."

    The Flames' intersquad scrimmage on the 11th will precede the annual Alumni Game. Please click here for more information.
