Play Postponed In Horizon League Softball Championship Game Until Sunday
May 14, 2011
CHICAGO - After heavier rains suspended play in the midst of the bottom of the fourth inning, the UIC softball team's deciding game against Butler in the Horizon League Championship contest has been postponed until Sunday morning at 10 a.m..
Once it was determined that the windy and wet weather looming over Loyola Softball Park was not going to dissipate, play was officially called off after a multi-hour rain delay.
The game will resume with the Flames leading 5-2 with one out in the bottom of the fourth, as UIC opened up a tie game with a pair of bases-loaded walks and a two RBI double from Ashley Hewett.
