May 14, 2008

Chicago, Ill. - UIC Director of Athletics Jim Schmidt announced on Wednesday, May 14 that he has accepted the resignations of co-head softball coaches Tom Gray and Sarah O'Malley-Fisher.

"I want to thank Coach Gray and Coach O'Malley-Fisher for their dedication to UIC," said Schmidt. "They will always be a part of our successful softball history."

Gray and O'Malley-Fisher served as co-head coaches of the softball program for the past seven years after the duo spent the 2000 and 2001 seasons as assistant coaches for the Flames.

UIC finished the 2008 softball campaign with a 24-33 overall record and a fifth-place Horizon League mark of 12-9.

A national search for a head coach will begin immediately.
