PENDLETON, Ind. - The UIC softball team will open play on Saturday against Wright State in the Horizon League Championship consolation semifinals, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.

The Flames (25-25), after falling to Cleveland State last night in an 8-5 battle between the top-seeded teams in the tournament, move down to the consolation half of the bracket and are still very much alive with a win against the Raiders (34-20), who defeated Loyola before falling to the Vikings on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Sarah Clynes will take to the circle in this must-win contest for the Flames, as the loser's season will come to a close and the winner will advance to play Cleveland State in the championship game this afternoon at 3 p.m.

Wright State defeated Butler, 5-2, in the contest prior to the Flames-Raiders matchup, and are the two-time defending tournament champions.

Note: Contrary to what was originally scheduled, the Horizon League Network will NOT be streaming this afternoon's consolation semifinals and championship game live on HLN.com, but will be airing both contests on Sunday, beginning with the UIC-Wright State game at 8 a.m., followed by the championship game at 10 a.m. CST.
