2008 Horizon League Tournament Bracket in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team earned the No. 5 seed heading into the 2008 Horizon League Tournament, hosted by Loyola University on May 8-10.

The Flames (22-31, 12-9) are set to tangle with No. 8 seeded Youngstown State (12-35, 6-16) in the first round at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8 at Loyola Softball Park in Chicago, Ill..

The winner will face No. 2 Valparaiso at 6 p.m. on Thursday night.

UIC swept the Penguins on the road in a three-game series in regular season play.

The tournament is double elimination with the first three seeds receiving first round byes.

Cleveland State earned the No. 1 seed after clinching its first-ever Horizon League regular season title.
