Chicago, Ill. - UIC softball (16-30, 6-6) battles Wright State (20-31, 7-8) in its final weekend of regular-season action in a three-game series on May 5 and 6 in Dayton, Ohio. The Flames enter the series ranked third in the league, while the Raiders are close behind in fourth.

This weekend's games will determine what team gets the higher seed heading into the 2007 Horizon League Tournament, May 10-13, in Cleveland, Ohio. The seeds will be announced on Sunday, May 6.

UIC swept Wright State in three games last season at Flames Field. The Flames lead the overall series, 41-3.

UIC enters this weekend 6-6 in conference play. The Flames are coming off a 7-2 loss to Western Illinois on Senior Night and are looking to snap a five-game losing streak.

On the season, sophomore Sarah Clynes owns a team-high .398 batting average. Clynes has totaled a team-best 53 hits and five home runs. The sophomore also leads the team in the circle with 107 strikeouts in 178.0 innings pitched.

Freshman Brooke Frydendall has posted a .336 batting average her rookie season, ranking second on the team. Frydendall leads the squad with 28 RBI. Senior Liz Jacoby owns a team-high 13 doubles and has totaled 23 runs scored, 36 hits, 23 RBI and four home runs.

Wright State enters the weekend with a league victory over Detroit on May 3. The Raiders split with the Titans after dropping game one.

Wright State is powered by Jherica Williams with a .354 batting average. Jherica has amassed a team-best 52 hits, 12 doubles and four triples. Allison Cox guides the Raiders in the circle with a 13-13 overall record. Cox has fanned 65 batters in 150.2 innings pitched.
