UIC Softball Game Notes in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team takes its final regular season road trip to Michigan for a three-game set against Detroit on April 26 and 27.

The two teams square off in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 p.m. CST. The series finale will be played on Sunday at noon.

UIC swept the Titans in a three-game series last season at home.

The Flames lead the overall series, 36-3.

The Flames are 6-2 on the road in Horizon League action with wins over Butler, Youngstown State and Loyola. UIC (18-28, 9-6) enters this weekend's action ranked fourth in the league, while Detroit (10-20, 4-7) is close behind in sixth.

Sarah Clynes ranks sixth in the league with a .367 batting average. The junior also owns second with 11 home runs. Brooke Frydendall is tied for fourth with a team-leading 11 doubles.

With only one league victory prior to March 18, Detroit swept Green Bay in three games last weekend.

Courtney Gill leads the Titans and ranks second in the league with a .425 batting average.

UIC wraps up regular season play next week with a mid-week tilt against DePaul at home on April 30, followed by a three-game series versus Wright State on May 3 and 4.
