Chicago, Ill. - UIC softball faces No. 14 DePaul on Thursday, April 19 in a RED OUT matchup at Flames Field. The crosstown rivalry is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.

The first 100 UIC students (with valid I-Card) attending will receive a RED OUT games T-shirt.

The Blue Demons lead the series, 42-29.

UIC split with DePaul in the 2006 season. The Flames defeated the Blue Demons at Cacciatore Stadium, 10-4, before falling at home, 5-2.

UIC (13-24) was edged by Wisconsin, 4-3, in a regional matchup on Tuesday, April 17 at Goodman Stadium. Tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Badgers notched the winning run on an RBI double with no outs.

Sophomore Sarah Clynes was 1-for-3 with one runs scored and one double. Freshman Brooke Frydendall was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Junior Nicole Robinson was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Robinson notched her eighth double against the Badgers, ranking second on the team. Junior Brittany Dixon was 1-for-2 with one RBI.

DePaul (27-7) is coming off a BIG EAST sweep over the University of Connecticut on Saturday, April 14.

The Blue Demons are powered by left fielder Kate Sheaks with a .337 batting average. Sheaks leads the team with 35 hits, 26 runs scored and five doubles. With a 0.60 ERA, Tracie Adix paces the squad with an 11-1 record in the circle. Adix owns a team-best five shutouts and 99 strikeouts in 105.1 innings pitched.

UIC steps back into Horizon League action this weekend when they host Detroit in a three-game series at Flames Field on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22.
