Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team steps back onto the diamond this weekend after ten days off of competition due to inclement weather. The Flames (12-21, 2-1) head to Rogers Park in Chicago for a key three-game series versus league leading Loyola on April 14 and 15.

UIC faces the Ramblers in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by a single matchup on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Because of cold conditions and snow in the area, UIC's last contest was played on Tuesday, April 2 versus Wisconsin at home. UIC's three-game series against UW-Green Bay last weekend on the road and a doubleheader versus Butler at Flames field Thursday night were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Tied for second place with Butler in Horizon League action, UIC is coming off a 12-1 loss to the Badgers at home in five innings.

Senior Liz Jacoby has powered the Flames at the plate with a .529 batting average in the last six games. Jacoby has amassed five runs scored, three doubles, four RBI and one homer.

Loyola (9-12, 5-0) enters the series ranked first in the league. The Ramblers' doubleheader at home versus Western Michigan on Thursday night was cancelled. Loyola fell to crosstown foe DePaul in nine innings, 3-2, in Lincoln Park on Tuesday, April 10.

UIC plays six games next week, starting with a doubleheader at Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 17.
