Chicago, Ill. - In anticipation of inclement weather this weekend, the UIC softball team's three-game series versus Valparaiso will start on Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at Flames Field.

The time for the series finale will be determined on Saturday morning after the weather and field conditions are evaluated.

UIC's contest versus No. 22 DePaul that was set to be played today at 4 p.m. has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 24.

The Flames are coming off a 5-0 conference week with a doubleheader sweep over Green Bay and a three-game sweep at Youngstown State.

Sarah Clynes was 9-for-19 at the plate (.474) with seven runs, three doubles, nine RBI and two home runs. The junior also recorded a 3-0 mark in the circle with a 1.84 ERA. Clynes fanned 16 batters in 19.0 innings of work and allowed just five earned runs.

Valparaiso enters the series with a doubleheader sweep over non-conference IPFW on April 9 on the road.

The Crusaders are led by Shannon Robinson in league games with a .375 batting average. Ashley Wolter has totaled a team-best five RBI. Andrea Zappia guides the team in the circle with a 3-2 record.
