    Horizon League Interview with Swan

    INDIANAPOLIS – Laura Swan and pitcher Devin Miller swept the Horizon League weekly honors. It is the third-straight week that UIC is represented in the honors. It was announced from the League headquarters on Monday afternoon.

    The Flames won the series 2-1 against Loyola. The Ramblers were the League favorite in the preseason poll.

    Swan, who held the position of the designated player compiled a .667 average. In six at-bats, she posted one run, on four hits with eight RBI. She posted a 1.333 slugging percentage with a .700 on-base percentage. The freshman earned her third homerun of the season, and had a two-run double.

    Miller went 2-0 on the weekend with a 2.14 ERA. In 14 innings of work, the veteran pitcher blanked 15 batters and allowed 18 hits. She appeared in all three games.

    Swan, Miller and the rest of the Flames face Green Bay in a doubleheader Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (CT), followed by a single game Thursday.
