Chicago, Ill. - UIC senior Alycia Creese tossed a complete-game shutout as the Flames edged out visiting UW-Green Bay, 1-0, in game one of a scheduled twinbill on Saturday afternoon at Flames Field.

UIC has now won 10 straight games and sits at 21-18 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in Horizon League play. The Phoenix, meanwhile, fall to 5-18, 2-4 in league action.

The shutout was the first thrown by a UIC hurler this season and the first for Creese since April 30, 2002, versus Valparaiso. The Covina, Calif., native scattered seven hits on the day while striking out one and is now 3-2 on the year.

Kristin Kosobucki was the tough-luck loser for UWGB, dropping to 4-7 on the season despite surrendering just one run on six hits while striking out eight.

UIC scratched the scoreboard with the only run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.

Junior Cameron Astiazaran opened the inning with a double, which extended her hitting streak to a career-best 16 games. Sophomore Michelle Miller followed with a sacrifice bunt and then junior Sara Hernandez drove her home with a single to center.
