    Box Score

Green Bay, Wis. - UIC junior Brittany McIntyre tossed her second straight shutout as the Flames took the rubber game of their three-game series at UW-Green Bay, 2-0, at Phoenix Field on Sunday.

McIntyre scattered four hits on the day and struck out a pair to move to 13-9 this season. It was her sixth shutout this year.

With the win, the Flames remain in first place in the Horizon League, improving to 5-1 while owning a 28-19 overall record. The Phoenix is now 1-2 in league action and 8-12 overall this season.

UW-Green Bay starter Stephanie Hansen was the tough-luck loser, despite allowing just three hits and two runs while fanning five.

Hansen was perfect through the first four innings until junior Nicole Shepard (2-for-3) singled to lead off the frame with an infield single.

The Flames finally broke through on the scoreboard off Hansen in the fifth when junior Joyce Cathey tripled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by rookie Brittany Dixon.

Shepard added an insurance run for UIC in the top of the seventh with a solo home run to centerfield. It was her first third homer of the year.

The Flames will be back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to take on Valparaiso in a single game at 5:00 p.m.
