Softball Completes Sweep Of Detroit|

Detroit, Mich. - Behind a five-run, seventh inning, the UIC softball team completed its sweep of Detroit and ran its winning streak to a season-best five games with a 6-2 triumph over the Titans on Sunday afternoon at Buysse Park.
With the victory, the Flames are now 6-2 in Horizon League play and 15-23 overall. Detroit, meanwhile, slips to 3-3 in the league and 7-17 overall on the year.
UIC and Detroit were knotted at 1-1 heading into the seventh, when with two outs and two runners on, the Flames strung together four straight hits en route to a five-run frame.
Senior Michelle Miller broke the tie with an RBI single to center. Seniors Nicole Shepard (3-for-4) and Joyce Cathey (2-for-4) followed with run-scoring hits of their own before sophomore Nicole Robinson (2-for-4) capped the rally by plating a pair with a double to right-centerfield.
The Titans would score one run in the bottom of the seventh for the final 6-2 margin.
UIC freshman Sarah Clynes picked up her second win of the series in the circle, moving to 8-6 on the year. The day after tossing a no-hitter versus the Titans, the rookie allowed just one run on three hits while fanning five.
Lindsay Roy was tagged with the loss for the Titans and is now 3-3 this season.
