    Box Score

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Texas A&M's Meagan May hit a pair of two-run homers and the UIC softball team was unable to respond, falling 5-0 at the San Diego Classic II Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Flames (6-16) fell behind 2-0 in the first inning with leadoff hitter Macie Morrow reaching on a game-opening walk when May, the Aggies catcher, hit a one-out blast over the right field wall.

Offense was sparse for UIC as pitcher Melissa Dumezich limited the Flames to five hits with only four moving to scoring position and stranding seven on base throughout the contest.

May would strike again in the fifth inning with a homer over center field that drove in a pair for a four-run lead. Two outs later in the same frame, right fielder Bailey Schoeder would drive in the contest's final run off an outfield single for the final 5-0 score.

Melinda Macias would go 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of outfield singles.

The Flames cap off the afternoon with a rematch against Kansas at 4 p.m.
